Preserve Balanced Regulation
A few big shipping companies and Members of Congress are pushing proposals in Washington, DC, that would overturn the Staggers Act of 1980. These proposals will re-impose government controls on railroads and turn back the clock to the 1970s when railroads could not afford to maintain their network and many went bankrupt.
This would put more freight on our already congested highways, which means more highway congestion, more pollution, and more fuel consumption.
Please take a moment to write your Senators and Representative and ask them to oppose attempts to overturn the Staggers Act.
